Nothing Fits, Part Two

So, at the end of my post yesterday, I promised to show you what seems to be helping me pull out of my pity party.

Not fixing it.

Not giving me a total makeover.

Not drasticaly changing my life in any way.

But making me start to rethink how Christ feels toward me and help me to start realizing that it isn't what others think or how others make me feel that is important, but what God feels, and that He made me a certain way for a certain purpose.

What book got me to thinking this through, you say??

This one:

I've NEVER highlighted notes in a book through my K*ndle before, but my highlighting feature is getting a run for it's money on this one.

She has such a wonderful way of reminding us (mainly directed at women) that we don't have to do ANYTHING to impress God.  He loves me, cherishes me, and will continue to adore me abundantly. . .just for being me.  (That's the learning to Embrace Who You Are part)

Of course, there are lots of things that He would like to see me doing more of (confession time)--reading His word, spending more time in conversation with Him, memorizing more of His word, and reaching out to others.  (That's the Becoming All God Created You to Be part--I haven't read that far yet, but I'm excited about getting there!!)

I know that this book is not going to be a means to an end for me, but for the stage of my life that I am in right now, God is using this book and Holley's wisdom to show me many, many positive things that I needed to see and hear.

I'm always amazed at how He knows exactly what I need just when I need it.

I will leave you with this:

When I first read it, I rolled my eyes.  But what Holley does that is so great is to back it up with God's word. . .

I guess I can't dispute it now, can I??

Have a Wonderful Wednesday!!

I haven't read this, but it sounds like a very encouraging read. In times of a pity party.....I usually find that its "little ole me" that put me there. With me, it usually happens when I have failed to get in to the WORD, fellowship with Him in prayer, and when I focus on the stuff instead of His blessings.
And by the way... your comment on my post, I really did laugh out loud!! You have got to be kidding me!!! Dear, perception is a tricky thing. I def have issues in remaining positive and would not consider myself joyful. And I am sure that B would not be in agreement with you!
Hang on to His promises! You are blessed, chosen, adopted, favored, redeemed and forgiven!!
